News @ Jains - Jain Irrigation was awarded Inclusive Business Leader Award 2011

Jain Irrigation Systems Limited was awarded with Inclusive Business Leader Award 2011 by International Finance Corporation, the World Bank Arm, at the Award Ceremony which was held on 22nd September 2011 at Hotel Westin Georgetown, Washington. The award was handed over by IFC’s CEO and EVP Mr. Lars Thunell, and the award was received by Dr. Dilip Kulkarni, President, Sustainable Agriculture of Jain Irrigation. Jain Irrigation was chosen among 200 IFC clients from 80 countries. The award criteria was the inclusive business strategy involving 4.5 million farmers who benefitted from the activities of Jain Irrigation.

The World Bank, IFC’s 2nd Annual Inclusive Business Leaders Forum was held in Washington D.C. on September 21-22, 2011, during the week of The World Bank Groups Annual Meetings, this conference brought together Inclusive Business practitioners and leaders to share global best practice experiences and lessons learned to date, and to gather innovative ideas for future development of Inclusive Business Models. As a leader in Inclusive Business, Jain Irrigations participation in this year’s event was most appreciated on presentation of its inclusive business model case study.

Wednesday, September 21st was exclusively for IFC clients, IFC investment staff and senior management.  The full event was open for all conference attendees that took place on Thursday, September 22nd.  Like last year’s inaugural Inclusive Business Leaders event, it was a dynamic gathering of IFC clients at all executive levels, donor partners, and global experts who are pioneering innovative and financially viable business solutions at the base of the economic pyramid.
